Everything Bagel Seasoned Cheese Ball

Updated: Jun 19, 2023

Today is the last day of school for my daughter. Everything for the past month has been chaos. I think every parent has the same experience when end of school comes around. There are awards days, last minute projects or field trips, things to be turned in, a million things come home, over excited kids thinking of vacation, and you just trying to stay afloat. At least, that is how it feels at our house when summer break rolls around.

This past weekend we tried to take a quick break from the crazy for a mother/daughter date. We checked out the local zoo and went to see the new Little Mermaid movie together. Taking time not to figure out the summer schedule or running from place to place was really nice and we got to really talk to each other and hang out. Bonus... when we got home my husband had started making planter boxes for the yard. Maybe we'll have some sunflower, lettuce and watermelon in the near future.

This week's recipe is a favorite flavor of mine. I put together an Everything Bagel Spice cheese ball. I remember about 15 years ago trying to figure out what I wanted to snack on. I went online and ordered an Everything Bagel Spice because I have never seen it in stores and wasn't quite sure of what all was in it or the ratio but I knew I had a weakness for those bagels. Now it is all the rage and you can find that seasoning blend in nearly every grocery store. I would spread whipped cream cheese on celery sticks and sprinkle my prized bagel spice over top.

Not surprisingly, I still think that this cheese ball tastes pretty great with celery sticks. I recently served it at a small party and there wasn't a lot left over at all. Since I love hosting and feeding my friends, that's just the way I like it to be.

Ingredients:

•8 oz. Neufchatel or reduced fat cream cheese, room temp

•¼ cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt

•2 tsp coarse ground mustard

•3 tbsp. Everything Bagel Seasoning, divided

Directions:

Place cheese, mustard, yogurt, and 1 tbsp bagel seasoning in a mixing bowl.

Mix ingredients together until well blended.

Place cheese ball mixture in center of plastic wrap and form into a tightly wrapped ball.

Leave in the refidgerator for at least 2 hours.

When ready to serve, transfer to serving dish and sprinkle remaining everything bagel seasoning over cheeseball until covered. Serve with crackers and vegetables.
